The Genesis of the Book

Early in 2023, Packt approached me with an exciting proposal: to author a book about .NET MAUI, with a particular focus on the MVVM pattern. As I reflected on my blog’s history, I noticed that posts like “Dynamically binding RESX Resources in Xamarin Forms“, “Simple data validation in Xamarin Forms” and “Setting up a basic MVVM architecture in .NET MAUI” were consistently drawing significant traffic. Still after many years, these blogposts seem to be very valuable to many people! This trend was a clear indication of the growing interest and need for detailed information on these topics.

This realization, combined with my innate curiosity and eagerness to explore new challenges, was the catalyst I needed. I was ready to embark on this journey, to delve deeper into .NET MAUI and the MVVM pattern, and to share this knowledge with a wider audience. Writing this book became a mission to fill the knowledge gap and provide a comprehensive resource for developers seeking to master these powerful tools.
