Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026.
This personal technology blog is operated by Pie Eating Ninjas. You can contact the owner through the profiles linked in the footer. This policy describes the static site at blog.pieeatingninjas.be.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Loading a page sends technical request information, including your IP address, to GitHub, which processes it to deliver and secure the service. See GitHub privacy statement for its handling of this information and applicable retention periods.
Optional Google Analytics
With your consent, this blog uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to measure page views and estimate visitors per article over time. Analytics is not loaded and no Analytics requests are sent before you accept. Refusing does not restrict access to any article. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in the site's integration.
After acceptance, Google receives page information and technical information such as browser/device details and your IP address during the connection. Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. The site supplies page URLs without query strings or fragments and does not supply the referring page URL, email addresses or a User-ID. Analytics cookies named _ga and_ga_… distinguish browsers; they are configured for up to 180 days. These statistics are estimates, not an exact count of people.
Your accept or refuse choice is stored in your browser's local storage for 180 days. Use “Analytics settings” in the footer to change it at any time. Refusing after acceptance disables collection, removes accessible Analytics cookies and, when your choice can be saved, reloads the page to unload Analytics. Withdrawal does not retroactively erase data already collected. If browser storage is blocked or cleared, we may ask again.
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. See Google's privacy policy and information about safeguarding Analytics data for processing, international transfers and retention. Event-level retention is controlled in the GA4 property; aggregated reports may be retained for longer.
Comments and external services
Archived comments from the original blog are displayed as static content, with public display names, dates and comment text, and website links where provided. Email addresses and IP addresses are not published. Retained Gravatar hashes are not used to load remote avatars.
On blog posts, an enabled Giscus discussion loads resources from giscus.app and GitHub, independently of your Analytics choice. Posting a new comment uses your GitHub account and GitHub Discussions; comments and your GitHub identity are public. See the Giscus privacy policy and the GitHub privacy statement. Following external links also takes you to services with their own privacy practices. The site does not currently display advertisements.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of personal data, object to processing, or request portability. Contact the owner using the footer profiles for privacy requests, including requests concerning archived comments. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority, including the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
